MISSION
With the goal of accelerating the socio-ecological transition and decarbonizing Montreal by 2042, the Montreal Climate Coalition informs, mobilizes, and connects stakeholders involved in this transition and in achieving carbon neutrality. It also empowers citizens to participate in various forums for democratic engagement and influence municipal decision-makers.

VISION
By 2042, the date of its 400th anniversary, the City of Montreal has mobilized businesses, institutions, community organizations, and citizens in a just socio-ecological transition. It is carbon neutral and resilient in the face of the climate crisis.

VALUES
We believe in the fundamental value of respect for the laws of nature, which facilitate the healthy functioning of multiple ecosystems, of which we are a part. We support formal recognition of the right of all citizens to a healthy and viable environment.

STRATEGIES
We will:

• Encourage actors in the transition to undertake bold and innovative actions so that we can create a society that is in perfect harmony with the environment.
• Influence citizens and various energy-transition actors to work together through democratic consensus-building to define priority actions, as well as implementation strategies, in a shared roadmap to a carbon-neutral Montréal.

We believe that:

• All citizens and actors in the transition must be involved at all levels, so that we can together achieve carbon neutrality.
• The City of Montreal must participate together with other large cities in a world-wide movement to make a viable future for the children of the world, now and in the future.
